About Soulla
Soulla is an author, trauma‑informed somatic and transformational coach and embodiment facilitator specialising in self‑compassion, emotional mastery and inner freedom.
With over fifteen years’ experience, she has guided thousands of individuals, including leaders, founders and changemakers, through depth-led inner work grounded in self-compassion, nervous system regulation, Internal Family Systems and embodied practice, supporting deep and lasting change in how people relate to themselves and their lives.
Through her writing, 1:1 work and Soulshine Retreats, she supports people to transform their inner relationship as the foundation for liberated living, leadership and meaningful change.
Soulla’s work is driven by one simple question: what keeps us from living as our freest, truest selves?
Over time, she has observed that insight alone rarely shifts how people live or lead, particularly under pressure. Change becomes reliable when the inner system is met with steadiness and care, when patterns are approached with compassion rather than force, and when new ways of relating feel safe enough to be embodied in everyday life.
“Lasting change doesn’t come from trying to become someone else. It comes from learning how to live from a steadier relationship with yourself.”
– Soulla Demetriou
My journey
I haven’t always found it easy to be kind to myself. I’ve lived with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD and a fierce inner critic, and for a long time it felt like there were two versions of me: the adventurous, playful, courageous one, and the scared, contracted one I so often felt trapped inside. Both were real – but the weight of struggle was heavy.
In my twenties I tried to fix this by changing my outer world. I travelled, chased experiences, even found myself on a beach in Brazil living the life I thought would finally make me happy – and still felt lost and low. That was the moment I understood: no amount of running or rearranging my external life could bring what I was seeking.
So, I turned inward.
I trained as a yoga teacher, founded Soulshine Retreats and began holding spaces for deep inner work. Over the years I’ve walked alongside thousands of people on their own journeys – witnessing, again and again, that the real turning point is not a perfect morning routine or a new identity, but a different relationship with ourselves.
The Soulshine Way™ grew out of this lived experience – my own and my clients’. It is a compassionate, depth‑oriented path home to your Self, grounded in nervous system awareness, self‑compassion and embodied practice.
At its heart is a simple belief: when we learn to meet ourselves with kindness, friendship and care, everything else in our lives begins to shift.
So much of my work is helping people remember their hope – that as long as there is breath in your body, there is possibility. When we shift how we relate to ourselves, so much more becomes available.
I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey to inner freedom.
